ShelterBox is a cutting-edge charity that hand-delivers emergency shelter for families devastated by natural disaster and conflict. ShelterBox works with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives.

ShelterBox began in 2000 as a Rotary Club millennium project. With the support of Rotary members and clubs around the world, ShelterBox has grown to become an internationally recognised, independent disaster relief organisation.

ShelterBox is a project partner with Rotary International.

Since2012, ShelterBox and Rotary have been official Project Partners in disaster relief. By working together with Rotary, ShelterBox is able to collaborate and combine resources to ensure that we can support more communities in desperate need of shelter after disaster.  Each year, Rotary helps us to go further, support more people and access areas that would otherwise be impossible to reach.

Rotarians and Rotary groups across the world support us in a variety of ways, from raising funds and awareness to providing support on the ground during our response to a disaster. This enables us to work more effectively and reach more communities around the world.

Since 2000, ShelterBox has assisted 2 million+ people across 98 different countries. In 2020, despite COVID-19, we helped over 40,000 families. From Cameroon and Vanuatu, to the Philippines, Syria and Honduras; our reach is truly global.

Our aid inventory includes different types of tents to suit a range of conditions, shelter kits and tarpaulins to repair damaged homes and essential items like water filters and solar lights. Our aspiration is that no family goes without shelter following disasters. You can help us achieve this aim.
